Croatia Oscar entry: '72 Days'

PRAGUE -- Croatia has posted helmer-scribe Danilo Serbedzija's "72 Days" since it's Oscar foreign-language entry, choosing for any small-town comedy that focuses on family loyalty, the strains of poverty and copious levels of home-made alcohol. Pic shows the problems wrought through the delivery of the pension for gran from the relative within the U.S., set from the gritty reality of the rural existence within the war-damaged Lika region of Bosnia. The tensions between family loyalty and the opportunity to get out of a fiscal grind really are a reality very familiar to a lot of Croatians.
